Staging Your Home For Sale

by www-soldbyarthouse-com

Is your home ready for the Marketplace?

If you are considering selling your home in today’s real estate marketplace chances are you evaluating what home improvement projects you should tackle in your home before listing it.  While every home is unique we have a quick list that works for every home:

  1. BRIGHT – Fresh paint goes a long way.  Evaluate each room.  Does it feel bright and clean or would a fresh coat of pain make all the difference?  First impressions count – does the front door need a coat of paint or stain?  Remove old or heavy window treatments and dust and clean all windows.  Let in the light!
  2. CLEAN CARPET – Bring in the professionals and have your carpet cleaned well, especially if you have pets.
  3. CLUTTER – Remove or box up anything not totally necessary.  Depersonalize your space by putting away family photos and mementos.  You want prospective buyers to see themselves living there.
  4. PLANTS – Add some real greenery!  Small plans around the house brighten everything up.  Add a fern at your front door.  Get the lawn professionally mowed and freshen up the mulch.  Tidy up the outdoor spaces and put away toys and lawn care equipment.
  5. SAFETY – Is your home safe for prospective buyers?  Fix rotten steps, loose handrails and remove or lock up any firearms you may have.
  6. AIR FRESHENER – Add a few plug-ins especially in the foyer, kitchen, and baths.

Doing these few things are typically inexpensive and go along way in supporting your asking price for your home.  Your home should stand out from the rest of the properties a buyer might be looking at that day.

Give the ART HOUSE TEAM a call and we would be happy to come by and give you a market analysis for what your home is worth on the market today.
